More Fun at Annoyance
As much fun as watching improv at Annoyance was tonight, I have to say geeking out at the bar with the performers was the absolute highlight. And, oh yeah, goofing around with TJ was the highlightiest of it all.
(Um, yeah. I made my friend Peter take these commemorative photos on the sly. This doesn't make me a stalker. Much.)

The First Day of the Last Week
I haven't had time to post, nor to I expect to. The plan is to summarize my notes when I get home for you improv geeks and so I can use this blog as a place to look back to remember the lessons I learned.
Today was the first day of the last week. Three more days of class. We have a great teacher - Craig Cackowski - who really knows his stuff. But as a group, we are spent and bruised. Our work is not even close to being what it can be, and we're all concerned how this energy will reflect on our final performance on Thursday. The realization that our time together is weighing on us, I think, and though I'm trying hard to prevent the sadness of our imminent separation from impinging on the delights of our last week together, I feel close to tears at any one moment.

Magic with Mick Napier

Finally, Mick Napier came over to let us ogle him. (He was very friendly and jocular.) Always with a deck of cards in hand, it took little urging to get him to do some tricks for us. He dazzled us - with surprising humility - for an hour or so.

The photos are fuzzy because I had to take them quickly and on the sly. Didn't want to seem like such a big, fucking geek. |
Yeah, just hanging out at Annoyance doing magic with Mick.
He got quite a kick out of the Finnish girl, Senja, and after a while did that quick assessment thing he's so famous for by telling her how she does improv based on his character assessment of her. (Yes, I was jealous.)
But still, yeah, I was hanging out at Annoyance doing magic with Mick Napier.
Oh, and he agreed to do an interview with me.
Boom.
